Posted on Monday, March 31 @ 00:53:09 UTC by nightowl

Omni wrote earlier this month (roughly translated): "Hello to all. This past March has been an important month for Omni. We are ready and in a few days, the band will fly to Los Angeles and then on the road to Mexicali where we are expected for the BajaProg fest which this year reaches its tweflth edition. Finally, Omni will perform on the 27th, at 7:00 p.m., sharing the stage with Rocket Scientists and New Trolls, who replace the canelled Banco De Mutuo Soccorso, who, because of the illness of one of it's members, has had to cancel their appearance at the festival. For those at the festival, Omni will be selling their records in the Teatro Del Estado of Baja California, where you can also meet members of the band.

"The good news has been steady. First, the principal and most influential progressive website in Brazil, Rock Progressivo has published its annual list of the best of records of the year 2007. Well, S?lo Fue Un Sue?, the latest release from Omni, has been selected among the top ten of the year, sharing the honor with Phideux, PUlsar and The Third Ending. According to the creators of this important page, voting has been very close and together with the ten groups haven chosen other bands for special commendation. The complete list of band chosen by Rock Progressivo are:

Best Records of 2007 (ordered by preference):

Big Big Train - The Difference Machine
Holding Pattern - Breaking The Silence
Interpose - Indifferent
Knight Area - Under A New Sign
Oceansize - Frames
Omni - S?lo Fue Un Sue?
Phideaux - Doomsday Afternoon
Pulsar - Memory Ashes
The Gourishankar - 2nd Hands
The Third Ending - Same

"Apart from this extraordinary news for the band, [we] announce that is possible that the follow up to S?lo Fue Un Sue? is just around the corner, [seeing] already significant design changes and possibly some Japanese house with which [we have] contact. {I think this means a Japanese distribution deal -ed.} More information in the next Omni newsletter.

Well, once again, Omni starts [work]. Our web site will be a little less active than usual, but we will continue to [read? send?] emails they send us. Thanks as always.

"Health and peace."
