First Release in a comprehensive catalog reissue campaign - In Stores January 30, 2007

The Essential Emerson Lake & Palmer, a comprehensive, career-spanning collection from progressive rock's most prolific supergroup, arrives in stores January 30, 2007. It is the first release in Shout! Factory?s catalog reissue campaign, which will see the release of the band's essential studio and live albums over the next 18 months. The 28-song Essential Emerson Lake & Palmer, compiled with the band's participation, brings together the group's best recordings, including "Lucky Man," "I Believe In Father Christmas," "Karn Evil 9: 1st Impression - Part 2" and "From The Beginning." The two-CD collection, remastered from the original tapes and bolstered by new liner notes from ELP archivist Bruce Pilato, will be available for the suggested list price of $24.98.



With Keith Emerson on keyboards, Greg Lake on bass and Carl Palmer on drums, ELP successfully broadened the audience for progressive rock. The band, known for its unparalleled musicianship, released a series of albums in the 1970s, including the self-titled debut (1970), Tarkus (1971),Trilogy (1972), Pictures At An Exhibition (1972), Brain Salad Surgery (1973), Welcome Back My Friends To The Show That Never Ends (1974), Works, Vol. 1 & Works, Vol. 2 (both 1977) and Love Beach (1978). The Essential Emerson Lake & Palmer boasts such gems as "Take A Pebble," "Knife-Edge" and "Fanfare For The Common Man." Black Moon (1992), a reunion album featuring the original line up, is also represented with the title [track] and "Paper Blood."
