Festival News: Electric Garden Festival Debuts In The UK May 19-21, 2011
[Electric Garden Festival is a] new progressive rock festival announced this year with the goal of bringing rock fans old and new back to the live environment, has been delighted to see tickets selling all over Europe. Run by Ken Foster, a music professional who helped promote the Genesis, Blackpool ABC show in 1980, the festival has been something of a labour of love.
"Bringing top flight progressive rock acts such as The Tangent and The Watch to the town is no easy matter and financially a big risk," said Foster.
“In 1980 we sold out the ABC for the Genesis gig and I'm sure there are plenty of latent progressive rock fans in the area who would love to experience that special kind of magic again."
"The Watch (from Italy) who are a brilliant band in their own right, will be performing the whole of the Genesis Selling England By The Pound album which should be really special."
"I'm delighted to say we've already had ticket sales from as far away as Hungary, Sweden, Italy and France."
The festival is indoors at The Beat Club, Corporation Street in Blackpool and runs over 3 days from the 19th to 21st of May, 2011. Advance ticket purchase is recommended from the festival website: www.electricgardenfestival.com
