Concerts: Yes To Tour, Perform "Fragile" In Full, In The US This Fall
On June 10 Yes announced "The Fragile Tour 2025, The Album Series" with a series of stops throughout the United States. Yes these days are Steve Howe (guitars, vocals), Geoff Downes (keyboards), Jon Davison (vocals, acoustic guitar), Billy Sherwood (bass, vocals) and Jay Schellen (drums). The first date of the tour is on October 1 at the Toyota Oakdale Theater in Wallingford, CT; the last date is November 16 at The Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, NV.
The entire Fragile album will be performed live plus some of their other classics. While I don't need the press release to tell you this, it says: "The multi-platinum album features their signature songs 'Roundabout,' 'Long Distance Runaround,' and 'Heart Of The Sunrise."
Part and parcel with the Yes albums from a musical perspective is the artwork of the one and only Roger Dean - and Fragile marks he debut with the band. Just the Dean designed logo has become iconic (even with colour changes over the years), never mind the covers, which are endlessly fascinating (I'm sure many, like me, notice something new each time.) Dean's artwork will be on display in the merchandise area of each show.
We added the dates to our calendar, but more importantly, click on over to Yesworld.com to purchase your tickets.
In other Yes news we missed, back in March there was a super deluxe edition of Close to The Edge released, entitled Close To The Edge (Super Deluxe Edition). What super deluxe delights are included? How about 5 CDs, 1 Blu-Ray, and an LP. The LP and CD 1 is the original album remastered*, but CD 2 is Steven Wilson 2025 Remix and Instrumentals**, Disc 3 is Rarities, Disc 4 is Live At The Rainbow, London, England, 12/16/72, and Disc 5 is Live At The Rainbow, London, England, 12/16/72 [the rest of the performance]. And the BR is the album mixed by Steven Wilson in Dolby ATMOS and 5.1 DTS-HD MA.
You will also find liner notes by Syd Schwartz of Jazz & Coffee.
Ahead of this album's release, the released the audio of "Siberian Khatru (Live In London, 12/16/1972)" from this new edition.
*I am assuming the LP is the remastered version, the info doesn't say...
**with all his remixing/remastering work, when does he find time to create new music? Somehow, he does, because he has!
