Culture Of Ascent will be released on October 23rd, but the band?s website is taking pre-orders for autographed copies now. Expect 69 minutes of audiophile mastering by the legendary Bob Katz, and a digipak with new art by Michal Karcz.

Babb, Schendel and company return with their tenth studio release, two new contributing artists, and performances by none-other-than Yes co-founder Jon Anderson. As to how they came to work with Jon, Steve Babb explains: "Jon has been sharing musical ideas with us for a couple of years now, and we've kept very quiet about it all. Lucky for us, the first things to come from this exchange will be on our new album! Of course, we're just as happy about Carl Groves (Salem Hill) joining for this album." Also joining the line-up is French guitar-virtuoso David Wallimann. "Carl and David have actually been working with us since before the Belmont DVD was filmed two years ago, but Culture Of Ascent is their first studio work with GH. They have both contributed a lot of their own ideas to the project, even lyrics." Also returning is vocalist Susie Bogdanowicz, drummer Matt Mendians, and The Adonia String Trio.

"This album takes the band in a new direction as far as we're concerned. We steered away from our retro-roots somewhat, and went for an edgier, contemporary style of prog. As always, it?s about making the music that we like best. Culture represents where we want to be right now, musically and lyrically."

And what about the lyrics? Is Culture Of Ascent a concept album? "Yes," says Babb. "This album is about Mt. Everest, mountain-climbing, danger, risk-taking, longing, and a host of related ideas."

The band?s website is now accepting pre-orders for the October 23rd release. The website also offers an exclusive special edition CD release of The Compilations (formerly only available on iTunes) with a new bonus track.
