Two Side Moon Promotions are very excited to welcome back to the party Sweden's Flag With Arthur Offen with their new album Perihelion, which was released January 1, 2010 via Arthur Offen Music.

Arthur Offen is a progressive rock song writer and artist with a special heritage and a very definite set of influences. His distinct outlook on how he sets his poetry and music in motion gives him an overall sound that can only be described as a style apart. Though his tuneful stories are at once completely original in their own right, Arthur's musical tapestry clearly shows his upbringing amongst the giants of classic American and English rock of the late sixties and the explosive English art rock movement of the seventies.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Arthur came into his early teens with the British invasion headed by The Beatles on one hand and the civil rights movement and American rhythm and blues blowing up sky high on the other. Strong influences no doubt. Already playing piano and singing from an early age as one three very music driven siblings and his mother a pianist as well, being in the music world became the center of his life as the sixties progressed ever onward.

As the seventies and Art school took off he was drawn into an evening job at a local recording studio. There he was able to cut his teeth on the entire recording process at close range aided by guitarist Rick Hinkle a friend from his high school days. With the help of drummer extraordinaire and resident engineer Rick Brown and superb studio bassist Tom Walker Air Raid consumed Arthur's artistic devotion and development through the seventies. Great English acts such as Yes and ELP were also an enormous motivating factor as Air Raid grew into a formidable recording act. The Air Raid album (1980) produced by Eddie Kramer is now considered one of the sleeper classics of early 80's progressive rock and still continues to sell today at Arthur's site have gained fans in Europe and Asia.

With Arthur there was never a time when song writing and creating visual art weren't happening side by side. Throughout the the 80's, whether he was living in Scandinavia playing hotels or working as a studio musician in the US, the writing process was always presenting him with some new vista. Whether it involved the pageantry of history or a setting in the depths of outer space, the characters that inhabited these tales always had something amazing to say about what they did or how they felt. Further on into the 90's settling into life in Boston the songs began to emerge as song books. It then makes perfect sense that Arthur would begin recording what eventually became an epic song cycle there in the studio where he worked that would culminate in the three album triptych under the moniker of Flag.

The Flag albums represent an enduring accomplishment for Arthur at the present and should allow him the opportunity to perform this music past and present for his many fans around the world.
