As posted at Nightmare Records' new forum (at www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/nightmare-records-436/): "We are very happy to announce the new signing of Scelerata and their NEW album Darkness And Light. Combining Melodic Metal with fast and furious technical riffs and prowess, a great vocalist these guys are exceptional at creating songs that make you want to bang your head and scream 'METAAAAAAAAAAALLLL.'

"Previously released only in Brazil, This album is now coming out on Nightmare for North America, MTM in Europe and Spiritual Beast in Japan.

"At the Brazilian Rock Brigade readers poll, the Darkness And Light album was elected by the popular vote the third best metal album during 2006 in Brasil, right behind the 2 Brazilian metal giants, Sepultura and Angra!

Scelerata started to rock in the beginning of 2002, when school mates Gustavo, Francis and Bruno were looking for a lead singer to their band. They found in Carl Casagrande this man and, as the band already had at that time many original tunes, Carl started to write the melodies and lyrical parts of each one of them.

"To fullfill the band's line up, Rodrigo Velasco joined the Scelerata to be the 2nd lead guitarist besides Bruno Sandri.

"In a short period of 2 months, results appeared. The band recorded a song called 'My Paradise' and started to be air played at local rock radios, with a mass support of local heavy metal fans.

"With this only one recorded song, the band was invited to play many underground gigs and the same year, debuted at the great stage of the Bar Opini?o venue, which all the international acts such as Gamma Ray, Helloween, Judas Priest, Primal Fear, Malmsteen, just to name a few, already played!

Scelerata was doing a nice job at the local scene and from 2003 to 2004, the band toured in Brasil with Shaaman, played gigs besides Gamma Ray, Masterplan, Angra, made 2 headlining tours in Brazilian south states RS and SC and a loyal base of fans started to grow.

"In the meantime, Carl Casagrande was invited to be the promoter and manager for Angra workshops all over the south of Brasil. Carl traveled and made all the workshop tours of the Angra boys, being invited by Rafael Bittencourt and Kiko Loureiro, both Angra guitarists and original remaining members, to sing along with them during the workshop gigs.

"A true friendship was based, specially with Kiko Loureiro and, Angra?s lead singer, Edu Falaschi. Both went to Scelerata?s rehearsals to help on the future album production and also to play a few gigs live with the band.

"This all was done without any kind of demo or support agency on [the] band's back. Scelerata's proposal was always to promote the band as hard as possible, get a great stage and musical experience to be able to go straight to a great studio and record a great album. And, that's what was made.

"In the beginning of 2005, Rodrigo Velasco had to leave the band due to his own solo projects. To replace him, Magnus Wichmann was invited to [join], since he was already known as great guitarist and brilliant composer. He brought to the band an awesome energy and, in 4 months, the Darkness And Light album was composed.

"The band recorded the album in S?o Paulo, Brasil, at the great Via Musique Studios, where only a few bands recorded, like Angra, Dr. Sin, Edu Ardanuy and Karma! The mastering process was made by Dennis Ward at the House of Audio Studios in Germany. Dennis is an awesome producer, well known due his works with Angra, Pink Cream 69, Kreator and many others.

"The album's artwork, was drawn by the great designer Rodrigo Cruz, which already signed covers for Shaaman, Kotipelto and else.

"And, last but not least, the band had an awesome support of Angra's singer, Edu Falaschi, long time friend of the band, singing together with Carl, the 'Spell Of Time' song, which gave a brilliant and talented vibe for the song in case !!

"Right after finishing the album production, the band shot the video clip of 'Eminence,' which won the prize of 'Best Independent Rock Video' at the most important Movies Festival of South America!

"Just before the album's release, the 'Eminence' single was released and in a month, more than 500 copies were sold only in the south of Brasil.

"Scelerata signed with Voice Music/Century Media in Brasil, for the Brazilian promotion and distro. In Asia and Japan, Spiritual Beast signed the band for a great promotion and hard work.

"The album was released on October 18th and on 21st of October, the band started the 'Wings Tour Fly 2006,' which followed till the end of December, touring Brasil as Edguy?s guests, sharing with them the huggest Brazilian stages like Claro Hall (Rio de Janeiro) and Master Hall (Curitiba). Scelerata played live a few gigs with Angra, with Edu Falaschi sharing the stage with the band, recorded a live DVD and shared the stage with Roy Z, Bruce Dickinson's legendary guitarist and producer, and finished the tour playing with Deep Purple, in front of 7,000 crazy fans in Porto Alegre !!

"All the local press gave brilliant reviews for the Darkness And Light album and shows, with the 'Eminence' video clip showing up at many TV programs!

"Scelerata had interviews at Burrn (Japan) and Young Guitar (Japan) entering the Japanese sales charts at #46, in front of artists like Marty Friedman, for example!

"The Brazilian first press of the album (1,000) was sold out in 2 months of their release, which for the band was amazing due to the digital era thing.

"Now, the group is releasing the album all over Europe, Australia, Usa and Canada throught MTM-Music and amazing support of our German friends out there, hoping to get a nice support and approach of the metal media there to fly to Europe and rock on with unforgetable live appearences.
