CD/DVD Releases: News Bits: Pendragon, Laura Meade, Dream Theater, more
Here's a compendium post gathering some of relatively shorter news items, most sent to us during April and early May...:
The title of Pendragon's next album, which they are currently recording (with new drummer Craig Blundell), is Men Who Climb Mountains. The band will be on tour in Europe come October with support from Jadis' Gary Chandler, except for their November 8 show at 229 The Venue, where support will be from Tin Spirits.

Izz's Laura Meade has released a new single - a cover of The Cranberries' "I Still Do." John Galgano and Paul Bremner play on the track. iTunes Amazon CDBaby

Also available from iTunes, the new single from Uriah Heep, "One Minute", which is from their upcoming new album Outsider, which will be released June 6 in Europe, except the UK where it will be out June 9, and released in the US June 10... in all cases via Frontiers. The Heep will hit the road this month starting with Sweden Rock on June 5, and then continue on through Europe, including a string of dates in Germany in November.

Dream Theater and Roadrunner Records will release the career-so-far spanning CD box set The Studio Albums 1992 - 2011 on July 8. It's an 11-disc set including the albums Images And Words, Awake, Falling Into Infinity, Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory, Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence (which spans 2 discs), Train Of Thought, Octavarium, Systematic Choas, Black CLouds & Silver Linings, and A Dramatic Turn Of Events.

Former lead in Rent on Broadway Starts Prog Rock Band One Truth. One Truth's new video for their song "A Coming Of Baby Flowers" dropped on April 25.
JC Gonzalez, a former "Angel" in Rent on Broadway has come to Virginia and started a new Progressive Rock experience called One Truth. One Truth recently co-headlined a with Richmond rock band DNA at which One Truth released an EP. Earlier in April One Truth released a video for their original song "Inferno".
One Truth is Progressive Rock that is eclectic and dramatic; a truly original body of work performed by a collaboration of some of Richmond's very best talent. JC Gonzalez, front man, songwriter and composer of One Truth's music is a passionate, hyper-creative, overly analytical, dualistic and meditative artist. "Theatrical Prog Rock" and "Art Rock" are also appropriate when describing One Truth.

New project Blackwelder streamed their new song "The Night Of New Moon" from their forthcoming as-yet-untitled album due out later this year from GoldenCore/ZYX Music. Blackwelder are: Ralf Scheepers (vocals), Andrew Szucs (guitar), Bjorn Englen (bass) and Aquiles Priester (drums).
