"Imagination" and "Friday Breakfast" presenter Rob Leighton, whose shows appeared on the UK's Radio Caroline, passed away on January 17th. He had been battling Crohn's Disease. Guy Manning wrote via his newsgroup, "He was a champion of the progressive music genre and in my opinion irreplaceable. We had talked often about doing a session at his place for the show, but circumstances never allowed me to be able to take up his kind offer. [...] There is a tribute to Rob written by Peter Moore (Caroline's owner) on their homepage and a book of condolence will be opened later at www.radiocaroline.co.uk" [now up].

It was announced on February 11, 2007, by Guy Manning: "With the consent of Rob Leighton's widow, Sharon, [there will be a] special concert to celebrate the life of Radio Caroline DJ, Rob Leighton [on] Saturday, 21st June - Herringthorpe Leisure Centre, Rotherham." Featured artists: Manning, Strangefish, and Black Bonzo. Tickets are ?15 to all and all profits to be donated to NACC (National Association for Colitis and Crohn's Disease). Doors will open at 7pm.
