Total Time: 00:00:00

I highly recommend this series of performance/instructional videos released by grassroots label Rounder Records. There are so many excellent performances that it took three full DVDs to accommodate the footage!

Fingerstyle Guitar Volume 1-3 offers the casual observer, novice or professional guitar player, and general music lover something different to enjoy on each DVD. Not only is there a diverse lineup of artists to discover there is a great step-by-step instructional video at the end of each DVD. Each discs follows the same format so there are no surprises, it is very consistent.

Finger style guitar playing is a unique and distinct genre in the world of acoustic guitar music. Its individuality lies in the flexibility it allows each artist to express themselves in their chosen style while utilizing their favorite equipment. In addition to the many different facets explored within this set is the complete genre coverage?everything from rock, country, bluegrass, blues, classical and everything else in between gets a turn one time or another.

In addition to the DVDs, there are accompanying booklets with short biographies of the contributing artists with sheet music included so you can play along (if you happen to be a guitar player).

This is one of the most entertaining and original DVD sets I have viewed. It is the first of its kind I have had the pleasure to discuss and I must say that I was suitably impressed.
