Has music ever been more relevant since Sir Paul McCartney picked up a bass or sat at a piano to sing one of his great rock-pop songs? It is difficult to imagine it any other way.

This DVD is the visual version of the recently released Back In The U.S. CD set. The many differences that you will find appealing will help you to decide to purchase this version as well. The visual and audio experience together, of course, is much more dynamic and unforgettable. When you are witnessing a legend in action, it holds your attention and has much more impact than any other entertainment mode, besides being there in person that is. When this concert aired on Thanksgiving Eve, I was right in front of the tube taking it all in. I also knew that the DVD would offer even more.

The bonus features alone are worth the price of admission. You will enjoy some up close looks at Paul backstage with his wife, other stars' visits, and even the entire group in the bathroom practicing a song! Well, bathrooms do have good acoustics you know, especially large ones filled with cement and ceramic tiling. The sound check is awesome; they play some songs that you normally would not hear onstage, such as some great blues-rock. Probably one of the most entertaining segments is when Paul, his wife, and the band pay a visit to a compound for apes that are being taught to communicate with us and each other so they can eventually do the same on the Internet! A three-ring circus like pre-show extravaganza that is not on the feature film shows off quite a colorful pageantry of characters. Think of the cover of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band coming to life, if you can imagine that. You will just have to get the DVD to see all the surprises it has.

It was something special seeing people from the ages of five to sixty dancing, singing, and crying to all of McCartney's greatest hits and some of the Fab 4's very best. There is nothing like it in the world if you love great rock 'n' roll music, words alone cannot express the emotion wrapped up in all the music Sir Paul has been involved with over the last 40 years. The fellowship that his entire entourage expressed on the tour was unusual. When Paul started singing "The Long and Winding Road," a large part of his road crew were in the front rows, and they all held up cards with hearts on them. I think it was a message of love from the crew because they felt so much for Paul on their trek across the U.S. Paul became so overwhelmed with emotion he could barely sing, it was very touching.

I really do not know what else I can say about this DVD folks, you will just have to get it to understand exactly what I am trying to convey to you. What more do you need than the fact that this is Paul McCartney?
