Actually Karnataka are a sole privilege of English people who love good music, but I think that the impending European publication of The Storm, the second album of the band, will give chills and great emotions to melody fanatics living all over Europe, so I felt obliged to prepare and warn (positively) you for this upcoming event (set for April). Yes, that's because our Welsh friends are really good! First of all this CD has won 2 awards from the Classic Rock Society, led by the mighty Rick Wakeman, and second you should know that the band has already enjoyed a lot of positive reviews in various magazines. And I, in my small opinion, can't do nothing but agree with the aforementioned reviews, because Karnataka, led by the sweet and beautiful Rachel Jones, are really the creators of an outstanding rock sound, evenly balanced between prog and Celtic influences. The ones who felt in love with the celestial harmonies of Blackmore's Night, for example, will rapidly bow to The Storm, because they will find another hour of magical atmospheres, a tapestry of kaleidoscopic sounds reminiscent of Pink Floyd and Marillion, rounded by the angelic voice of Rachel, a voice that recalls the one of divine Anneke of The Gathering or the singer of Cranberries. The heavenly (pardon the pun) "Heaven Can Wait", a lively "Dreamer", the ethereal symphonies of "Everything Must Change"? all the album in its entirety will take the listener to new heights, enabling him [or her] to be carried away from daily troubles at least for a moment, and this thanks to a myriad of harmonic cascades, primordial yet not taken for granted. Hoping only that when he returns back to reality, the awakening won't be too harsh!
