Broken Arrow is a new band from Italy who with this Abyss Of Darkness introduce to us their first release.

Defined by the label Scarlet Records as a melodic power metal record, this album hasn't the schemes of power metal with precision, without that kind of very up tempo rhythm and double bass drums.

Abyss Of Darkness is nearer to old, classic hard rock like Black Sabbath, Savatage, Helloween and Rainbow, as it is well written on the introduction of the disc. A very particular album comes out, maybe a little bit of a hybrid that doesn't satisfy neither the power fans nor hard rock ones. The sound depends more on the guitar of Nick Savio (ex-White Skull), influenced by the great guitarists of the genre like Malmsteen, Wylde and Morse, among others, that with his riffs and solos gives something more to the music, while the keyboards of Giulio Bogoni are ambient?like without performing any solos.

The melodies, well sung by Dave Baduena, aren't put apart, and show how important to the group being catchy is.

To conclude, I have to say Abyss Of Darkness introduces us to a new reality of metal music, one that we'll wait for with great curiosity in the future.
