Vangelis came to mind more than once while listening to Ryan Farish on his inspiring recording Daydreamer. All recorded by Farish himself, his music is a collection of digitally blissful sounds, a true reflection of our age of technologically advanced recording processes. The compositions he creates are a combination of technological and keyboard wizardry affording the listener an opportunity to paint visions inside their head with the aid of every track.

I was very relaxed listening to this music but also intrigued knowing that it was one person that put all of these sounds together. It is actually amazing when you hear everything come together in each individual track. To keep you on your toes Farish likes to close the curtain with his songs in an abrupt manner with one resounding clap of the keyboards, slamming the door and setting you up for the next manifesto of ambient pleasure zones.

I went to his website and noticed that he is offering the Best Of Ryan Farish Sampler CD for free. It contains 13 full-length tracks, taken from Daydreamer and the new unreleased CD. All you have to pay is shipping and handling. How many artists are so confident that you will like their music that they are willing to give it away and expect that you will come back to buy more? I would venture to guess not too many. That kind of confidence in his abilities comes through strongly in the music. I felt compelled to listen to this CD several times, it is addictive, and of course, anything that is good for you like soothing music is a good addiction to have. It comes as no surprise that he is one of the most successful artists in the history of MP3.com.

If you have been a fan of Kraftwerk and like-minded bands then this will be just what the doctor ordered.
