Finally, a new heavy metal/power metal band to come out of Denmark. Denmark do have a few great metal bands like Mercyful Fate, Manticora, and Pretty Maids, but to me Danish quality metal is rather rare. Being signed on Noise Records should give them the best start any power metal band could wish for. I was very surprised to see the low age of the band-members, they are all between 17 to 20 years old.

The music is fairly traditional up-tempo power/speed metal, the German way! The songs focus on big guitars, pounding drums and huge sing-along choruses. Fans of Helloween, Running Wild, Blind Guardian and especially HammerFall will most likely go bananas over this one. The instrumentation is good, so are the mid-ranged vocals, although I find his vibrating way of holding some tones a bit annoying at times. Overall the melodies are accessible and of good quality, perhaps some of the material tends to "sound the same" towards the end of the CD, but that is just me being picky.

Iron Fire won't bring anything new to the scene with their music but I am sure fans of power/speed metal will enjoy this CD as it is filled with good melodies throughout.
