Prog-rock fans will be descending on Bury St Edmunds next month for ProGBury - a two-day festival celebrating progressive music. The gigs, on the weekend of 16th and 17th October 2010, are amongst the first to be played at the stunning new, state-of-the-art venue, the apex.

Headliners include '70s Dutch giants, Focus -- whose track "Hocus Pocus" sound-tracked the World Cup in Nike's "Write The Future" advertisement this Summer --, Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash, Curved Air and Nik Turner's Hawklord, featuring ex-members of rock legends Hawkwind. These early proggers will be joined on the bill by some of today's finest practitioners, including the acclaimed, folk-tinged, Mostly Autumn, metallic proggers Aeon Zen, who will be debuting their new album, and Wales' best in class, Godsticks.

Norfolk's Mother Black Cap and Suffolk's The Future Kings Of England (or are they from space?) will add a local feel to proceedings, with the line-up completed by master tribute band ReGenesis, who expertly recreate the early music of prog gods, Genesis.

Tickets are on sale now from www.theapex.co.uk or by calling 01284 758 000.

Day tickets ?20 cost each or ?35 for both days.

Promoter Andy Grumbridge said: "The line-up will send a shiver of anticipation down the spine of music-lovers everywhere. I grew up in Suffolk listening to some of these bands - it's fantastic to have them come and play for us. Add the new boys into the mix, and it makes ProGBury unmissable."

Venue Director Tony Doherty said: "This will be a stunning showcase for what the apex can bring to East Anglia, and indeed the UK. We aim to provide a spiritual home for music-lovers across all genres and ProGBury is an explosive start for the proggers."
