Rader, Paul - Land Of The Cover Band - ''Live'' - Vol. I
Year of Release: 2004
Label: Independent
Catalog Number: n/a
Format: CD
Total Time: 51:55:00Land Of The Cover Band is Paul Rader's Classic Rock tribute unplugged. The 14 tracks will joggle the cobwebs from your brain, bring back memories, and make you smile.
All covers on one CD ... that is not unusual these days considering it is the age of the tribute and reissue albums so why not, besides, when you hear how good Paul Rader is you will immediately understand why he put this CD out. The dude can play and sing up a storm, and he does all of these classic tunes justice, giving them their due by playing his ass off and singing as if it was the last gig he would ever do.
Steve Miller, The Eagles, Cat Stevens, The Who; recognize the names? Well you probably do, and the young college crowd that gathered did, too, on the night this event took place in Key West, FL., during Spring break. '04. You can hear a lot of chatter and singing going on and above all you can hear the guitar and voice of Rader ringing on through the night. This is a very good live recording that really captures the atmosphere of the evening and the talent of this artist.
Fair warning for the younger listeners - if you hear this album, expect to be going out to buy at least 10 CDs by the honored bands.
