In 2007 the album Alcoholocaust really caught me by surprise. The band Invisogoth was shrouded in mysteries, but the album turned out to be so much different than I had expected. So when I heard the band was working on a follow up, I was quite eager to hear what the band would do next. Well, I have had the album for quite some time now and played it to my heart's content: again a very surprising, yet fantastic album.

Narcotica radiates passion and emotion. I found the album very captivating, as it takes you along for the ride across the musical landscape of Invisigoth. It is very hard to put a label on this band, as their music is more a blend of many styles. One keyword rules their music, though: melodic. The melodies on Narcotica are beautiful, fragile, eerie, powerful and haunting.

Similar to their first album, Viggo Domino's voice reminds me a lot of Damian Wilson's, as he is just as passionate and has the same vocal range. Later on the album, fortunately, that changes, so you can enjoy the songs more. When you listen to the music, you really feel you are listening to a band, and yet only one man is responsible for the music: Cage.

It is really amazing what these two guys have yet again brought us! Narcotica is an addictive album. There are so many beautiful songs on it. The first two and last two songs together form a great epic, but the rest of songs are just as great and when you start playing the album, it is as if you join a roller coaster: you are swept away with the music and cannot get off before the album is finished. And I think once the ride is over, you'll go again.

Narcotica is a great album to listen on your headphones, with the lights off and the volume up. I was amazed by the first album, but I love the second album. You have to hear it to believe it. Highly recommended!
