This has to be one of the best Spanish bands I've ever heard. Is Pain is a 4-piece and this is their debut CD.

The band offer an energetic form of melodic metal with some progressive elements. Not unlike Balance of Power, this band create music concentrated around heavy crunchy guitars, occasional staccato riffing, great soloing, pounding drums, good keys, great powerful mid-ranged vocals and really catchy, accessible melody-lines and songs. Spanish vocalists usually tend to be rather weak or really accented, but this guy delivers the goods. The production is surprisingly good, very energetic, powerful and clear, where every instrument is present. When taking a look at the liner notes it says that Timo Tolkki of Stratovarius fame has mixed the CD at Finnvox studios, so no wonder why this stuff sounds good. I'm really impressed by this band and they definitely have the potential to go somewhere.

If you like powerful melodic metal with great production, playing and songs, this is absolutely worth the money.
