Ch-ch-changes...

As we continue to define and refine this site, you will notice, week to week, subtle and not so subtle changes. For now, mostly subtle. The major change that we are going to make, starting this week, is keeping the featured reviews in the spotlight longer. The reason for this change is because what the featured review section was originally intended to be, were the "favourite" releases for each section. Of course, because the The Progressive Voice section is split into Larry Daglieri's reviews and mine (and others') reviews, there ought to be two featured. However, because most of the reviews Larry has written are "reprints" from the Perpetual Motion board, it's difficult to say which of them is his favourite. I don't think he was writing the reviews in that context. I'm not either, of course.

But, to keep you abreast of what reviews have been recently added, you need only look here, as I will, in the course of my discourse, highlight what's been recently added. Of course, it will only be a sampling of the new reviews, as hopefully we'll get to a point where there are so many, I couldn't possibly list them all here. Someday.

Many of the reviews added this week are past releases given a once over. In the case of Royal Hunt's Paradox it is to look back and see why I didn't like the release, and why I now do.

Those of you reading the Aural Odyessy section may wonder, if this is a progressive music page, why an artist like... oh, Rick Braun say, or The Rippingtons, are included. Well, for purely personal reasons, actually. Obviously - I wrote the reviews. To me, the aural landscape should allow for a variety of textures, moods, feelings, whathaveyou... The kernel of it is that I find great enjoyment in smooth jazz also. If you are one who reads all the reviews, regardless of genre, you will notice my name affixed to reviews in every section. My interests are that diverse.

As far as new reviews this week, only a handful have been added - it's been a tough week (last week), so... we added but one to Progressive Music Review, a review of the tracks sampled on the Nordic Progressive Sampler included with issue #31 of Progression. Sound and Fury fares a bit better as we've got three new reviews, including the above mentioned Royal Hunt... and Aural Odyssey has but one, Tangerine Dream's Atlantic Walls

But, we've been working on our artists links pages, working through them alphabetically, removing invalid links, updating out of dates ones... this is proving slow going, so I may take a month before we get to the letter Z.

In fact, we're probably working on that even as you read this.
